My life motto is trust in people. I like and I want to help others and I am certain I can do it well. I wish Romanis cared more for their children’s education and realized their proper schooling is their children’s life chance for a better future.

Performed in the film “Czarne Serce” and “Komedianci z wczorajszej ulicy”. A jury member of the International Festival of the Romani Music and Culture in Ciechocinek; held a great number of wildly acclaimed concerts in Poland and Europe. Published nine volumes of poetry. My family: my children and grandchildren.

Yes, I am.

What are your plans for the future?

I would like to publish more volumes of poetry, give more concerts – in truth, I feel alive when I am up on stage.

Karol Kwiatkowski

Achievements in life and work:

My work for the Central Council of Roma in Poland and the Roma community. In cooperation with a working group, we succeeded in making the Seym of the Republic of Poland proclaim the 2nd of August Roma and Sinti Genocide Remembrance Day. I succeeded in reversing negative behaviours of the majority society towards the Roma community in Radom and scornful attitude to all the related issues; my work as a assistant and last but not least my family – my beloved wife, my sons and my daughter.

It is a difficult question. I realize my ambition while performing my work. I am content with my life. However, I always intend to improve things.

What are your plans for the future?

I hope my efforts and hard work of other people, even partially, will break down stereotypes against Romanis.

Karolina Kwiatkowska

Achievements in life and work:

My greatest success is my family. Support for my father, Stanisław Stankiewicz, in his work for the Roma community in Poland. I worked as a spokesman of the European Roma Travellers Forum Organization; support for Roma children in Radom – thanks to my efforts they increased their self-confidence and trust in people.

Yes, I am.

What are your plans for the future?

I have plenty of ideas! I would like to raise my children to be proud of their Romani origin and continue my work for the Roma community.

I spared no effort in helping the Roma community and gaining their respect. We have jointly succeeded in raising the education level of Roma children in Nowy Targ. Additionally I have also acted as a mediator between the Roma community and the majority population; people trust in me.

I think so. I am content with the results of my work and I truly believe that I do lots of good things.

What are your plans for the future?

I want to raise my daughter well. I want to be healthy in order to be able to make all the people around me happy.
